Coach Stores: What to Expect at Landmark Flagships and Everyday Boutiques
Tapestry’s annual report records that Coach finished its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores. Within that figure, 336 sit in North America and 637 are overseas. A figure of about 1,299 stores is sometimes cited as well, but that number spans all of Tapestry’s brands rather than Coach on its own. By some accounts, Tapestry has said it plans around 50 net new Coach stores in fiscal 2027, roughly three quarters of them outside North America. Coach House flagships, regular full-price boutiques, concessions within department stores and Coach Outlet stores all belong to the network. For that reason, a search for a coach store could return anything from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. In the sections below, the best-documented locations are examined city by city, with a note wherever a store’s current status still awaits confirmation.
| Site | Format | Status for September 2026 | Good to know |

New York: Coach House on Fifth Avenue
Established in New York in 1941, Coach has its most recognisable flagship in its home city. Launched in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue marked the brand’s 75th anniversary. Coverage described it as about 20,000 square feet spread across three floors, and it was designed with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Coach has reportedly leased about 13,200 square feet coach clutch at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House, so the current address is not a long-term home. Coach has set 2027 as the target for the planned move, while David Yurman is said to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space with an opening expected in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so look at Coach’s store locator before travelling specially. There is also a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards on the locator, near Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London: The Coach House on Regent Street
Unveiled in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House is found at 200–206 Regent Street. It was also created with Studio Sofield, which gives it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. A Craftsmanship Bar offering monogramming and personalisation was described in coverage at the time. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly require around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks with exotic skins, with a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag reported as well. Beware of the wrong opening year: one retail-district listing bears a much later page date, and some writers have been misled by it. Tapestry said on its August 2026 earnings call, according to a published transcript, that the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material market penetration. Anyone planning a personalisation appointment should confirm which services are available now before visiting.
Tokyo: The Ginza Flagship
Coach’s main Japanese flagship sits in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The first Japanese flagship opened its doors there in 2002, and the store was refurbished in 2015. It reopened on 19 December 2025 after a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY, according to reports on the relaunch. When it comes to services, Japan counts as well: select Japanese stores reportedly participate in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Gently used all-leather retail bags are reportedly accepted by the scheme, whereas outlet items and canvas pieces are not accepted. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so contact the store before taking a bag in. Opening times and available services are best checked shortly before a visit, as is true of every flagship in this guide.
Hong Kong, Chongqing and an Outdated Shanghai Record in Greater China
Set against New York or London, Coach’s large stores in Greater China are documented less thoroughly. Going by a record that is now out of date, a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Its current status was not verifiable, so do not assume the Shanghai store is open now. Reports also say that Coach has a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Opening dates for those two stores also went unverified. Of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, 637 are international, yet the annual report offers no city-by-city breakdown. Before travelling, trust Coach’s local store locator rather than older press coverage.
Boutiques and Concessions in Britain
Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator lists full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf are further London options. The Bullring in Birmingham holds the documented full-price store outside London. Shoppers can also find Coach in concessions within Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Do not assume a local branch exists in Manchester, Edinburgh or other cities without checking, because no stores there were confirmed. This list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing for anyone browsing coach uk locations. Coach’s UK site provides each listed store its own page, and that is the surest place to confirm hours and services.
Coach Outlet Locations
Instead of being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores form part of Coach’s own network, and Coach identifies them as outlets in its store locator. As a rule, these stores are found in outlet centres, and in the United States, Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common. In the UK, Coach Outlet stores are confirmed to trade at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. York Designer Outlet is less certain: a store there has been reported but not confirmed, so verify first before travelling there. A portion of the outlet stock is made for the outlet channel, yet the only share figure available, around 85%, dates from 2014, which leaves today’s mix unknown. Under the reported „One Coach” strategy, the ranges on offer also bring in some full-price collection product, as well as earlier-season styles. Since promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified, review current offers before planning a coach outlet trip.
What to Expect Inside a Coach Store
Inside a full-price coach store, the spotlight is the latest handbag range, with small leather goods, clothing and shoes displayed alongside. Well-known bag families in 2026 include the Tabby, launched in 2019, the Brooklyn, introduced in August 2024, and the Empire Carryall, released in February 2025. Recorded US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are figures seen in the market rather than an official price list. There is also the (Re)Loved trade-in at North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, so it is worth asking whether a particular store takes part. One membership extends to both formats, as Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, is said to cover both Coach and Coach Outlet. A receipt from a Coach store makes handy evidence of where a coach bag came from, particularly since Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise. Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013, is still Creative Director in 2026 and oversees the creative direction.
Planning a Visit
Especially while the New York flagship prepares to move, a little preparation prevents wasted journeys. Begin with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, as it separates full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. For anyone wanting a trade-in, check that the store in question is participating and that your bag is all leather instead of canvas. Ask ahead of time whether personalisation or made-to-order services are available. No VAT refund is available to plan around if you are visiting Britain, since tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021. Save every receipt, because it shows where a bag was bought if questions crop up later. Check current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.
- On the day you set out, check the store locator.
- Confirm trade-in participation and eligibility.
- Any personalisation service should be booked ahead.
- Retain a receipt for everything you buy.
